WHAT IS ANIMAL ASSISTED THERAPY ?
Generally Accepted Standards
	• The animal-handler team has been certified by an organization (either local or national) to have met the minimum behavior and socialization criteria for intervening with the general public.
	• The minimum behavior and socialization criteria are based on the American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test.
	• Animal Assisted Therapy is goal directed and supervised by a licensed professional.
	• The animal-handler team is an integral part of the therapy process.
	• The therapy process and goals are documented.
