Each class is taught by a trained instructor with the assistance of several volunteers who have also received instruction. Students are encouraged to progress at their own pace, and according to their individual abilities. Basic instruction is given which includes grooming, tacking, horsemanship and riding skills. Classes also include exercise, games, and much more. The classes are designed to provide more than just physical benefits, and with the growing sense of accomplishment, the students' self-esteem will greatly increase.

Pet Therapy of the Ozarks, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation organized to provide emotional therapy visits to nursing homes, hospitals, schools, prisons, and other facilities within a 50-mile radius of Springfield, MO. We are a volunteer group funded by membership dues and donor support.

SDI is a United Way, nonprofit agency based in St. Louis, MO. There are three divisions - Service: providing people with disabilities greater independence with their specially bred and trained service dogs; Education: teaching children respect for each other and animals through the Advocacy By Canines programs; and Therapeutic: responding to a strong demand from the medical community for a professional canine therapy program.
