Colorado Therapy Animals provides high quality Pet Partner teams and activities/therapy to meet the growing demand
through education, visibility and human/animal interactions in accordance with the standards of the Delta Society.
CTA helps facilities and volunteers maximize the benefits of interactions with residents, patients, family members
and visting animals. CTA assists facilities to develop quality AAA and AAT programs through professional training
and consultation. CTA is a pool of qualified handlers and animals for visiting animal programs through animal evaluations
and handler training for Delta Society Pet Partners registries. CTA's continuing education resources provide additional
courses and training workshops to keep health professionals and volunteers current on AAA and AAT topics. Exempla

A Delta Society affiliate, Denver Pet Partners' mission is to enhance the lives of people and promote the human-animal
bond through animal-assisted activities and animal-assisted therapy. Formed in 2001, this group has grown to 80
teams visiting regularly at 17 facilities in the metro Denver and Boulder area. |

MITA SUNKE ("my horse") Equine Learning Center is incorporated in Colorado as a private, non-profit organization
with federal 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. Therapeutic riding at MITA SUNKE Equine Learning Center uses horse-oriented
activities combined with the strength and spirit of the horse to enhance the cognitive, physical, emotional, and
social well-being of people with disabilities.
MITA SUNKE works toward continuing and expanding its program for the Denver metro area, developing a center for
research on the benefits of therapeutic riding, and developing a program that provides start-up training and support
for equine-assisted therapeutic programs on reservations throughout the United States.
MITA SUNKE is built on the cultural foundation that human beings derive physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual
benefits from making a relationship with our relatives, the horse nation. |
